Illuminated Void

Today’s project 365 photo: on Flickr and deviantART.

After my long history of loathing trips to art galleries with my parents, we made the trip today down to Baltimore to the Illuminated Void exhibit by Chul Hyun Ahn; a display of what could pretentiously be described as abstract artistic brilliance, or colloquially as trippy epicness.

The gallery was a palace of abstraction, in which everything (not at a literal level, but all of the pieces) was built inside a bottomless container; backed by a mirror, paralleled by tinted glass.

The best line of the day, if not the decade, was by the man working at the gallery. Upon hearing the ambrosial shutter sound of my AE-1, he told, “It’s been years since I’ve heard the shutter click of a real camera.”
